Child of Light: Oculi Crafting and Effects Guide

Child of Light has a crafting system based on combining different types of oculi to create either more powerful versions of the same type, or to create entirely new types of oculi. This guide will walk you through all possible combinations, including all of the various stats for each type.

There’s a few rules for crafting oculi. First, you must combine the same “quality” of oculi. There’s four qualities (from worst to best): Rough, Tumbled, Faceted and Brilliant. Moving from one quality of oculi to the next tier up is the same for any color – combine three of the previous tier to gain one oculi of the next tier. For example, if you have three Rough Sapphires, you can combine them to receive one Tumbled Sapphire.

Basic Combinations

You can also combine different types of oculi (remember that they must be of the same quality) to create new colors of oculi. There’s three base oculi: Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald. Combining you can combine these gems in various combinations to create new types as described in the following table:

Oculi 1 Oculi 2 Oculi 3 Result
Ruby Sapphire Amethyst
Sapphire Emerald Tourmaline
Ruby Emerald Citrine
Sapphire Ruby Emerald Diamond

Again, these new types of oculi can be combined in groups of three of the same type to upgrade to the next tier.

Advanced Combination

From here, you can take these special oculi and combine *them* to get yet another type:

Oculi 1 Oculi 2 Oculi 3 Result
Amethyst Citrine Tourmaline Onyx

Advanced Combination 2

You can go one step further by combining a Diamond and an Onyx:

Oculi 1 Oculi 2 Oculi 3 Result
Diamond Onyx Spinel

Final Combination

The “ultimate” stone is called the princess stone. This one has one additional rule – you must combine three brilliant versions of the following stones:

Oculi 1 Oculi 2 Oculi 3 Result
Brilliant Diamond Brilliant Onyx Brilliant Spinel Princess Stone

Each of these different types of oculi give different effects per equipment slot. These effects are:

Just to let you know, the ones without specific information still scale with each level (tumbled, faceted, brilliant).
